Damn, I had a good time at this show. I walked in in time for the last song by Laser Gold, and thought it was half decent. The Kill Me Tomorrw was a big dissapointment I thought compared to the rest of the bands, I just did not think they fit the mold. It was more like Kill me NOW!!!

But once the nerdy geeky fat Chinese Stars took the stage the party began. It was an amzing disco dace pit up front. So many people were just dancing non stop, it was a blast. They of course started with City Halo, track one from their rocking new LP, which started their set off with a bang.

The only thing about this show compared to other LO-FI shows I have been to was the prep time for these bands and all their equipment was time consuming, whereas most of the smaller bands we have seen just have to set up a drum set and tune guitars.

But after the somewhat long wait after the Stars the Moving Units finally came on and played "Anyone," with it's program dance synth beat, only the lead singer initially came out with the drummer playing Bass. That song just thumped live. The rest of the show was unbelievable, as the singer took his guitar and bassest took over, letting the drummer assume the position. this show was just so much fun. These guys were not as in your face or trendy as the Stars, but were still some great Indie-dance-Post-punk-funk to shake your ass to, Franz Ferdinand can't wave a stick to these guys.

I personally liked the Stars better live, even though I like the Units album more. The energy and pizzaz was awesome. But the Units still rocked.

Overall a very fun show, probably the funnest I have been to at Lo-Fi, hopefully they will continue to bring bands like this, and the Killers and Head Automatica in like they have in the past, they are great fun live, not just teen angst, or metal hatred. Sometimes it is great to get your dance on.
